What is Padel Americano?
Americano is a padel format where players rotate partners every round. Points are tracked individually โ the player with the most points at the end wins. Everyone plays with everyone (or as close to it as possible).
How do I set up a tournament?
1. Enter a tournament name and set the number of players, courts and rounds.
2. Name each player (you can edit names any time).
3. Optionally rename courts (e.g. "Blue Court").
4. Hit Start Tournament โ rounds are generated automatically.
How do I enter scores?
Tap any court card to open the score screen. Pick Team A's score โ Team B auto-fills to the remaining points. Hit Confirm Score, or use Save Draft to save without locking in. When all courts for the round are scored, tap Confirm & Advance.
Can I correct a wrong score?
Yes! On any scored court card you'll see a small pencil (โ) button โ tap it to edit the score. You can also tap โบ Undo Round to clear the whole round and re-enter all scores.
What happens if a player arrives late?
Tap โฐ Mark Late in the resting bar. Select which players haven't arrived yet. The schedule is regenerated so late players sit out for as long as possible before rejoining โ other players' pairings are adjusted to fill the courts in the meantime.
How do I share the live standings?
Tap ๐ Share to copy a link. Anyone who opens it sees a live read-only view: current matchups, who is resting, and real-time standings. The full tournament state is encoded in the URL โ no account needed.
Can I edit player names mid-tournament?
Yes! Click the โ icon next to any player name in the Standings view, or on any court card in the current round. The name updates everywhere instantly.
How does the session work?
Your tournament is automatically saved in this browser tab. If you close the tab and reopen the app, you'll be returned to where you left off. Each browser tab is independent โ someone else opening the app gets their own fresh session. Use New Tournament to start fresh without closing the tab.
How many rounds should I play?
The app automatically calculates the ideal number of rounds for your setup. The goal is for everyone to partner with everyone at least once and for all players to play the same number of games. For example: 13 players with 3 courts โ 13 rounds perfectly. 13 players with 2 courts โ ideally 26 rounds (but 13 is common for a shorter session). If you pick fewer rounds than ideal, the app warns you and the difference is explained.
What if I don't have enough court time?
You can play fewer rounds than the ideal โ just be aware that some players may sit out one more time than others, making their game count one lower. At the end of the tournament, the app detects this and offers to award bonus points equal to half the match value to players who played fewer games. This is optional โ you decide whether to apply it.
How does the tournament timer work?
The โฑ Total timer in the rounds panel tracks the full elapsed time from when you hit Start to when you end the tournament. It persists across rounds and is shown in the topbar. Pause it if you take a break. The elapsed time also shows in the topbar so it's always visible.
